Qing and I extend our heartfelt condolences to Elizabeth and Dennis' entire family. We were lucky to know Dennis and blessed to have him as a neighbor, fellow dog-walker, and friend. Always with a smile and friendly greeting, we knew he played professional baseball but he never boasted about his remarkable career. Instead, he generously shared his wisdom about insurance. We miss him. 

May all of you carry with you Dennis' kind and gentle spirit and be carried by his strength of character always and all ways. Have strength and courage.

Sending my condolences to you on the death of your brother.  I was one of the guys that hung around with your brother.   My father, Zigmond Spakowski,  and your father were in  the St. Francis Home for Boys.  Here is a list of the guys that hung around playing ball together with your brother: Richard Parker, Frank Schultz, Richard Schultz, Tom and Jim Kozicki,  Steve Konieczki,  Bernie Opalewski, and myself John Spakowski

Sent some cards to Dennis years ago to be signed. Not only did he sign them, he answered my questions about his career. He like other players from his era were glad that they were remembered by fans. 

RIP, Dennis

growing up in upstate NY, I want to tell you that Dennis Ribant was Tom Seaver in our hearts before there was any Seaver. He was a hero to 5 year old Mets fans like me. He was the hottest baseball card on our block. He was the Miracle Mets before there were Miracle Mets because he proved that a NY Met actually could win! That's a miracle to kids like me.  He gave us hope. I wish I knew that he lived so close in his later years!

Dennis and I were teammates for a short while during the Detroit Tigers magical 1968 season.  Just a couple of Michigan kids living the dream.  I was only with Detroit 3 weeks that year but still remember Dennis's humorous demeanor and outgoing personality. Condolences to all.

Such an amazing performance that night pitching against most of what would become the '69 Cubs team. Dennis threw a complete game in front of some of the All-Time baseball greats on hand for Casey Stengel's 76th birthday and Old Timers night. Please take some small amount of comfort in the happiness that Dennis brought to an 11 year old Mets fan at his first game.

Dennis how well do I remember all the special times we had as we were raised,sharing good times and bad. Thank you for all you did for me and my family and the times we spent together. You heard the voice of Jesus gently calling from on high.He was holding out his loving arms but I could not say goodbye.  With aching heart I whisper low, I miss you Dennis and love you so,  and  my tears I cannot hide. Dear Dennis,wait for me for the beauty of God's Heaven is where the Best is yet to be.
