Earle was born and grew up in rural Chester, South Carolina, where he could always be found by a lake, stream or in a deer stand in the woods hunting or fishing. He was blessed with a close, loving family that enjoyed spending time together. As a teenager, he attended Chester High School where he was a star football, basketball and baseball player with natural athletic talent.
Earle joined the United States Navy as a communications engineer in 1954. While on furlough, he first laid eyes on the love of his life, Judy Larson, at the Charles Fuller Old Fashioned Revival Hour in Long Beach, California. He knew he was destined to spend his life with her. After completing his navy service, he asked Judy to be his wife. They were married in 1958 at Olive Hill Bethany Baptist Church in Long Beach. Earle earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from Long Beach State and worked for Leach Corporation in Buena Park for his entire respected career that spanned 38 years. Earle and Judy were married for 64 years and had four beautiful children together: Paul, Sharon, Sandra and Susan.
In his free time, Earle loved sports and was an avid golfer--he enjoyed many rounds with his beloved wife, family and friends. He shared his passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A devoted Christian, he lived his life for God every day and was committed to passing down a legacy of faith to his family. All who knew Earle saw him as a man of character, honesty, wisdom and integrity who was fully devoted to his family. He touched many lives during his 88 years on this earth, and we are all better for knowing him. Earle will be deeply missed, but he will live on in our hearts and minds forever … until we see him again in heaven.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
