Ellen was a very frank and outspoken person, but she also loved to laugh,
and talk stories.  Sometimes she would make a bold remark, but usually
she would also add a joke poking fun about it, or herself. I really enjoyed that,
serious, but relaxed, and light hearted.  Her love of Hawaii and all her memories
growing up there were all encapsulated into stories she would tell from time to time,
cracking a few jokes here and there, and making us all laugh and smile. 

We'll miss her, but memories of her makes her feel alive

I’ve known your mom a long time and treated her as my own mom as well.  I will always remember her smile and the kindness she had for people. She was always happy. She will always be remembered. I’m sorry I won’t be able to attend her funeral today. I really wanted to be there but I just couldn’t get away from work. I am sending my sincerest sympathy to you and your family.

As my mother would say Aunty Ellen was one of her best friends. I always remember Aunty being a independent and outgoing person 
I remember our trip to Lake Tahoe when we were younger and our mothers would grasp at nature picking wildflowers we will forever miss them!

Words cannot begin to describe how much we loved Ellen.  She was our neighbor, but more importantly a special friend.  We shared so many good times together, and she will be missed.  She will forever be in our minds and hearts.  Please accept our deepest sympathy.
