Evelyn worked at Hunt-Wesson Foods in Fullerton, Ca. as a Supervisor in the plant for many years. Later she enjoyed working at the Broadway department store in Orange in the Better Dresses and Furs department.
Evelyn and Howard lived in Santa Ana, California until retirement. They moved to Mt. Hood Oregon where they enjoyed retirement living, working in their pear orchard, making fruit wines, and running a tasting room with friends. Their pear orchard was the only orchard in Mt. Hood that looked like a manicured park due to Evelyn's loving care as she enjoyed mowing the orchard riding her mower. They also enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling with friends and visiting relatives. They moved to Sun City, Arizona to be near Evelyn's sisters Vivian, Elwanda, Jeanie and husband Buddy. They enjoyed living on the golf course and playing golf while continuing their on-going search for antiques.
After Howard's passing Evelyn continued living in their home, enjoying her daily walks around the neighborhood visiting with neighbors and their dogs and spending time with her sisters and Buddy. Evelyn was always caring toward others and was always the first person friends and neighbors called when they needed help.
During the last few years Evelyn enjoyed the company of Ana and Buddy her companions and friends, they were known as the "The Three Musketeers" and did everything together. They loved visiting the casinos and museums as well as family and shared most meals together. Their friendship and caring provided a loving and safe environment during Evelyn's final years for which the family will always be grateful.
