FRANK JOSEPH PORRELLO, known to family and friends as Joe, went home to our heavenly father on January 6, 2021 at the age of 81. Joe was born on December 23, 1939 in New York City, NY and moved to California as a teenager with his family. Joe served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud veteran. Though New York was his birthplace, Southern California was his home and where he would spend more than 65 years raising a family, touching the lives of many and creating his own legacy.
A loving husband, father, papa, great-papa, uncle, brother and son; he loved to fish, golf, travel, listen to music, and spend time with his family. He had a love for hawks, ocean breezes and the sunny California weather. He was an excellent cook, creating many family recipes and traditions that he shared with all. Joe had a deep love for his family, and nothing was more important to him. He was a simple man, with a heart of gold, who touched the lives of many, and in so many different ways. Joe will never be forgotten, but only celebrated for his big heart and warm smile.
He was preceded in death by his wife Isabel Porrello, parents Francisco and Pietrina Porrello, and sister Carol Santor.
Joe is survived by his children, Lucille (Wayne) Donaldson, Lisa Hernandez and John (Tia) Porrello, and Grandchildren – Brandon and (Dianna), Theresa and (Jason), Brianna, Johnny, Domenic and Natalia, and Great-Grandchildren – Graysen, Jacob, Sienna, Caraline, and Sofia.
A graveside memorial service, at Magnolia Court, will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary at 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar, CA. Social distancing will be adhered to and masks will be required. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the ALS Association, to honor his wife Isabel is requested.
