Irmgard Louise Bishop

Irmgard Louise Bishop passed away on May 1st, 2024. Born in Long Beach, California on July 3rd, 1937 to August and Erna Mueller, Irmgard left us at the age of 86, at her home of 60 years in Fountain Valley, California.

She was the eldest of her sisters, Gretchen and Erika, and they maintained a close bond throughout their lives. After marrying Ron Bishop and moving around Southern California they finally settled in Fountain Valley, where they raised their three kids Loyann, Curtis and Troy.

Irmgard loved traveling, food, gardening especially caring for her rose bushes, singing, the occasional sip of Jager, playing pool, her church and its community, reading, road trips and starting conversations with anyone.

She was affectionately known by many names: Mom, Dominic, Granny, Auntie Irmgard, Mrs. B, Irmy, Miss Irmgard.

To know her was to love her.

Irmgard was the one family and friends would call on for advice, she was always available to listen with a loving heart.

Irmgard never lost her beauty, grace, faith, and ability to always view life and situations in a positive light. Her trust in God and the love of her family comforted her in those final days.

Irmgard is survived by her daughter Loyann Townend, her son Troy Bishop and daughter-in-law Cathy Bishop, son-in-law Peter Townend, grandchildren Rana Townend Lo Tauro, Jye Townend and Tosh Townend and in-laws Francesco Lo Tauro and Nicole Townend, and great granddaughter Jemmaly Townend. Her nieces and nephews: Cynthia, Stephanie & Karl; Jerry, Debbie & Ricky; Rusty & Robin.
