Mae Ellyse Ussery

On Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Arlington, VA, formerly of Irvine, CA. Beloved wife of the late Marvin V. Ussery Jr., loving mother of Marvin III, Avril, Edward, Bernard, and Andrea; their spouses and children; dearest sister to Jean, Kenneth, Barbara Jean, and the late Edward, Robert and Loretta; cherished cousin of Melba Marshall and many more cousins; dearly loved aunt to her nieces and nephews. A loyal friend, Mae retired after serving for many years as both a dedicated teacher at Santa Ana Valley High School and as Superintendent of the Unity Saturday School Academy at the University of California, Irvine, was a Lifetime Member of both the NAACP and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a faithful member of many civic and cultural organizations.

Family will receive friends at PACIFIC VIEW MORTUARY, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar on Thursday, September 14 from 5-8 pm. On Friday September 15, services will be held at 10:00 am at Christ Our Redeemer AME Church, 45 Tesla, in Irvine. Interment at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Dr. at 12:00 pm, repast at Christ Our Redeemer Church at 1:00 pm.
