Merry was our firecracker! She had a zeal for life. If you were fortunate enough to know her, you would see how remarkable she was. She only wanted the best out of life for her family, friends and self. She would often spend her days researching healthy foods, and habits. She wanted the best for all of us.
Merry was born in Thailand on March 30th, 1984 to her parents, Mongkol Watanasrimongkol and Marguerite Le. She was born with zest. Only those who knew her for the shortest period saw her as quiet and shy. Once Merry set her mind to anything, she would strive to accomplish it, even sometimes without knowing the way. She was on a quest for the best life had to offer, through humble means. Due to unforeseen circumstances, her quest was cut far too short. On Saturday, October 3rd, 2020, while taking a walk in the beautiful East Bluff Park, Merry Watanasrimongkol would lay to rest for the last time, under a magnificent magnolia tree. There she would take her passion and journey beyond the world we know to be.
Due to COVID-19 the funeral service will be limited to family and her closest friends. The family welcomes you to be a part of Merry’s service via Zoom. Your kind words of support are warmly welcomed. They encourage you to sign the online guest book. You also have an opportunity to send flowers and/or a memory on the website below.
One of the things Merry loved the most was the beach. She loved the fresh air and to take walks down the boardwalk of Laguna and Newport Beach. She would send us pictures of her on those walks and urged us to enjoy it when we can. She also urged us to eat lots of protein so we would grow healthy and strong. She encouraged us to be nice to everyone. Merry appreciated human kindness most of all the values. She wished everyone would hold this virtue in high esteem.
The essence of Merry will be with us ALWAYS. Whenever we go to the beach, we will remember how Merry loved the view and the fresh air. We will always remember how much she loved plants, and how she would take them everywhere she went, including her room, the office and even keeping some in her car. When we gather at family functions let us remember the good times when we would eat together and play games until late in the night.
Merry was a great person to chat with. Her friends express their sincerest condolences and say that she will be missed at, “the comfy chairs,” where they would hang out. She would hang out and talk with people from all ages from 19-60 years old. “Merry was a compassionate listener to everybody else’s situations. She was always there to listen, and give care to whatever your situation was,” Merry’s good friend, Shiela Broughton, tells us.
Merry was a blessing to us all. She was a compassionate daughter, sister and good friend. We all love you, miss you, and wish you the best in your next life.
