One of the greatest men I ever had the pleasure of meeting! My 5th grade teacher at Hazard Elementary 62-63. Rest in Peace Mr. Lombardi.

Well , this is a sad discovery. I tried to look for Mr. Lombardi on Facebook over the years, but could never find him. I remember principal Lombardi from Parkview elementary in Garden Grove.  I remember his nice smile and he had a very soothing voice.  One day I was called into his office so that he could discuss something with me. I wasn't scared, but I was very curious as to what it was all about. Apparently, my third grade teacher had nominated me as exemplary student for the semester. So, principal Lombardi presented to me a giant bundle of Tootsie roll pops and a little handmade award with a giant gold star on it. I also remember that the entire school was so excited when he announced that he was going to be on a popular game show. I also remember how sad everybody in school was when he announced that he was leaving his job as principal to move on to something else. 

Wow, I came across an old picture that reminded me of Mr. Lombardi. So I did a search on google for him and saw this site. I had the pleasure of having him as my Principal at Earl Warren elementary as well as at Fitz Jr High. I remember that he always carried his golf club with him and walked around as if it was a cain. I remember when he saw someone “me” 😁 doing something wrong he would draw it out as of it was a sword and he would approach  me like a swashbuckler. He had an impeccable memory. When he took over at Fitz, he saw me and called me out by name. 
Probably one of the best and nicest principal I ever met. God bless Michael and Rest In Peace

He was my Father-in-Law and I cant tell you how much I miss him.
He always brought a smile to my face, and now along with the smile there are tears. Dad, I think about you everyday.

Mr. Lombardi was possibly the greatest principal EVER!!  He loved his kids and was stern when he needed to be but was a friend when it was needed also.  He will be forever loved and missed.

As my junior high principal at Fitz, Mr. Lombardi was my first example of an authority figure who had a both sense of humor and the ability to keep order.  He truly cared for his students and I hope he and his family always knew what a positive role model he was.  The Lombardi family will be in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry to hear of the news. Mr. Lombardi was a cool principal and was always there for his students. I pray that God will help his family through this difficult time.

I'll always picture him walking the halls with that darn stick. He loved all the students and was just a great man. I'm sure he touched the lives of many.

Mr. Lombardi was such a great Principal at Fitz! He always had something positive and enlightening to share with the students. I remember being in 8th grade and we made a bet. Each year tehe 8th grade students played the faculty ina softball game upon graduation. We made a bet that the team who lost had to buy McDonald's Big Mac's for the loosing team...We were rained out! Mr. Lombardi was my principal at Fitz intermediate school. He was a vary kind person and very respected. I remember he would come into our chorus class and play the guitar for us. We alway sang Mararitaville!!!

Mr. Lombardi was the best Principal I ever had. He was so caring of all us students and was always out there listening to us and making us laugh.

He was there for me and my sisters. He cared for his students and loved his job. He will be missed!

Mr Lombardi was a great Principle who can never be replaced. He always had his stick in his hand. R.I.P. your students will always remember you and your sense of humar.

Mr. Lombardi was my Jr High Principal 1981/82-83/84. He was funny and very nice man. My condolences to his family. He was liked by his students at Fitz Jr. High. I am sad to hear of this news. God bless his family and friends.

Truly sorry to hear about Mr. Lombardi. He was a good friend. I once took a group of drama students to his school and did a presentation to try and encourage his graduating students to enter the drama program at Los Amigos high school. We used all kinds of guns with blanks and shot up the place. It was hilarious the fun that we had, but we could never do that in today's time. Mike and I had many good laughs about that, for some time. He always invited me back to put on an assembly for him. We both retired together. A truly great man.

I remember when you tried to break up an awful fight between 2 boys at Fitz Elementary.....You had a cookie in your mouth during the whole fiasco.  I was only 11 yrs old at the time, but I thought you were a hero because of that... :)  You were loved, you will be missed.....

Michael was a gentleman with a great sense of humor and a booming voice...he will be remembered with a few tears but lots of smiles.

In memory of Michael Lombardi, a real influence in my life, my family's life and my career as a teacher.  It was always great sharing antics about my job with Uncle Mickey and laughing about just about anything.  God Bless you and give you peace and love.   

To Mickey's Family, I am so sorry for your loss and look forward to celebrating Mickey's life tomorrow at the memorial.  I will always remember the family get togethers when I was a kid and how much I enjoyed watching my Dad (Junior) and Mickey talking.  God Bless you.

Uncle Mickey,
You will be missed!
I remember visiting you as a young child, seeing you at the harbour and remembering your vibrant and lively personality. You brought a smile to everyone that was around you.
