Pat to me is fully meaning a spiritual father, a dignified teacher and the most admirable business partner that I’ve ever met in my life. 

Throughout our partnership in Vietnam since 2000 his out loud talkings, thundering laughs, unbearable jokes and the powerful but opening manner has been always there and can never be taken out of our deep memory blocks. He’s really a Big Bear with full of passion and power that can get you right away at the first meeting.

It’s a shame that I haven’t got a chance to meet him again and say goodbye before he started  his journey to another loud, busy and happy life.

God will bless you Pat and you will always be there deeply in our hearts.

I've worked with Pat for 24 years. In those years, I have had more life enriching experiences than all of the other years combined! Like everyone who has met Pat will say their life has been touched in a positive way because he was in it! Pat was unique in his ability to combine laughter, joy and humor with a taste of sarcasm mixed in to give it a little Cochrane flavor. His laugh was infectious!

Whether having dirty martinis at the Intercontinental in Hong Kong, traipsing through factories in Vietnam and China or working another trade show in one of many US cities, Pat lived large. You never had to ask him to speak his mind! You knew it was coming, you just didn't know how or when. Like many of the new buyers who would come to meet Pat for their baptismal by fire would find out that Pat's initials P.C. did not stand for politically correct! I recall an executive from one of our most important customers walking with Pat in our Atlanta showroom listening to him describe some of our new product acquisitions in a very "colorful" manner when she stopped Pat and took him by the arm and turned to look at him. She said "You know Pat, you say things to me that no one has ever said or would even think of saying....and I love it!" 

Pat lived large and enjoyed life to the max. His passion for living, loving and laughing was second to none! He leaves a large void in the hearts of all who knew him and loved him. He is not walking with us now but he will live large in our hearts as long as our heats are beating! He is of course greatly missed but his legacy of laughter and joy will help dampen the sorrow and give us continual cause to smile as we remember all of the amazing memories he has given us. Here's looking at you Pat! A life well lived to the fullest! I miss you my friend!

Pat- You were always the first to give me a big hug and always made me feel part of the family on the 4th of July.  Your love for family and friends was special. I know you'll be watching over everyone from heaven. God bless you.

To All of Pat's Family,
I first met Pat, and the rest of the Heather Ann team, 18 years ago when I was just beginning my career at Kirkland's.   Even at that point in my career, it was clear that there was something different and special about Pat.   Business was important, but it wasn't most important.   The relationships, the fun, the laughter, and the friendships were what he valued...   Don't get me wrong..he wanted that order!!  :-)   But at the end of the day, he was your friend and he wanted you to know it.   Coming from West TN, I had never heard of Trader Joe's or Two Buck Chuck, but after a few visits to see Pat, I was an expert. :-)
I have so many wonderful memories of Pat, Heather, Ron, and the entire Heather Ann team.    I learned a lot from Pat.  He absolutely helped to shape the growth in my career and enlightened a young, eager girl of the importance of relationships in business.   I treasure all of the wonderful memories.

With your passing there is a void at the helm of our family.  Our family celebrations will never be the same without your presence to stir things up a bit.  We will always remember our golf outings, barbecuing at Turnberry, celebrations at 1128 and Lakepark, and  the races at Del Mar.
Keith's favorite story about Pat involves Pat and his Lakepark neighbor.   Keith left his sunglasses at Pat and Heather's and went back to get them the next morning.  He knocked on the door to no avail, then went to the back of the house to see if he could roust Pat.  No response!  By the time Keith came around to the front, Pat was coming out the front door into the street, cigarette in hand, in his undershorts which had a pattern of red hearts and flowers.  At the same time his neighbor, who is a nice looking lady, came driving down the street in her sleek black Mercedes.  She stopped alongside Pat, lowered her window, pulled her sunglasses down on her nose, looked Pat up and down and said, "nice shorts Pat" and continued on.   Pat stood there a few seconds and said, "Adams, I think she liked my shorts!"

Like the sands of time that shape the existence of tomorrow.
I floated through the door such as a particle or a grain of sand that is manipulated by the world constantly being swirled, dipped, and spun.  For you have given me the key to enter the door and the strength to shape my pyramid…

Uncle Pat, 
Your passing has left a whole in our family and in my heart. We will miss your hearty laugh, commanding presence, witty zingers, generosity, winning with the least odds (especially at the horse races) and dapper style.

You will be missed. I can close my eyes and hear you laughing. 

 My very first introduction to you was in Atlanta at the Ritz Carlton with Hayim.  It was snowing and I was to meet with Hayim before the January Gift Show.  Where did I find Hayim in the bar with you and Heather.  You were carrying on as usual and drinking champagne out of  Heather's shoe.  You were quite the barrel  of laughs.

I have many memories that will last a lifetime. Most of all he was like farther. Pat would treat PJ’s friends just like his own son.  One thing I couldn’t stand was that mean ass dog you had back in the late 80s.

Uncle Pat was always there for me when I needed help, advice or someone in the family to talk with. One of my most special memories with Uncle Pat was when I needed an escort for an event in high school. He was so handsome, was the life of the party and made me feel special. He stayed with me (close by) the whole night to make sure I was okay and offered to drive me and my friends to the party we were going to in his sports car. I wish I could attach a photo but I'm not home. Love you always. Popo

My memory of Pat Cochrane is that he was a loving father to Tracy and PJ and many other close family members. I will never forget when he took Tracy and Shelley and I out for dinner and gave me the money to pay and I lost the change . The change was not coins but dollars he said it’s ok and til this day I recall this event. He was a charismatic man which seemed to come so naturally. May he Rest In Peace. He will always be remembered for his generosity and humor and kimonos.

Dear Dad,

I guess I’ll break the ice here...I confess, it was me who crashed the Cordova. I never got a chance to admit it although you had the whole caper figured out when u told me  how u thought it went down. And of course Julie was in on it although an innocent passenger. I’m sorry and sorry to Heather for having to take the heat for it. Because you are in heaven now I know you will forgive me.

I joke as my heart is broken into a million pieces. I have never experienced such pain in my life. I joke because I know it’s what you would do and is what you did up until the very end.  I loved that about you along with so many other wonderful qualities. To know you was to love you, I think everyone will agree. 

As I go forward in my life without you here , you will forever live on in my heart and soul as I’m sure will be the same with all who had the honor and joy of knowing you. In what seems to be the blink of an eye, you are gone and I can’t express in words how much I miss you. I feel empty. I love you Dad, forever and always.
