

Dr. Reza Modarres was born on August 30, 1935, in Isfahan, Iran. From an early age, he exhibited a profound passion for learning and a determination to excel. After completing high school, he embarked on an ambitious journey to Germany in 1953 to pursue higher education.
In Germany, he earned both his MD and DDS degrees, as well as becoming a skilled oral surgeon, graduating from esteemed institutions in Göttingen, Köln, and Düsseldorf in 1961. His dedication and hard work quickly distinguished him in the medical community. He went on to practice at the Staatliche Krankenanstalten in Düsseldorf and then in Lucerne, Switzerland, where he honed his skills and contributed significantly to his field until 1965.
Returning to Iran, Dr. Reza Modarres joined the National University of Iran, where he not only shared his extensive knowledge with students but also led the Oral Surgery Department, influencing the next generation of oral surgeons. His commitment to education culminated in achieving his PhD in Anatomy, graduating Summa Cum Laude—a testament to his exceptional intellect and dedication to his craft. He was also a prolific author, writing dozens of articles that contributed to advancements in his field. His excellence as an educator was recognized through multiple nominations as the Best Professor, a testament to his inspiring teaching and mentorship.
Throughout his life, Dr. Modarres was not only a remarkable Oral Surgeon and educator but also a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support.
As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember a man who dedicated himself to his profession, family, and community. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he impacted, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
