She spent most of her youth in Los Angeles. After high school, during World War II, she met Carson A. Green, they married, and found she was pregnant with Laurel. Carson, a B-52 bomber pilot, tragically lost his life when his plane went down and was lost at sea.
Later, after marrying Orville, Virginia saw a visit from LDS missionaries as a sign of divine intervention. Though she was new to the church, she and Orville, who had learned about it during his military service in Utah, were baptized on June 5, 1953. Their daughters, Laurel and Barbara, were baptized at age eight. Virginia cherished her church roles, serving in the Primary Organization and later as President of the Relief Society.
She taught kindergarten at El Oro Way Elementary in Granada Hills, a job she loved and dedicated 30 years too.
She was highly creative and had a deep passion for all forms of art, with a particular love for sculpting and painting.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Laurel & Barbara; her nine grandchildren; her fifteen Great Grandchildren, and her ten Great Great Grandchildren.
She was a tower of strength and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
