William was born on June 6, 1940 in China. He married his wife, Ann, in 1969, and moved to the United States in 1977, where they raised two children, Edward and Grace.
In his public life, William had a passion for business. His pride and joy was his company Aminco International, named after a combination of his Chinese nickname and his wife's first initial, in loving tribute to her role in his success as both beloved wife and partner. He worked tirelessly his entire life to build his company, and as a result, was able to participate in several once-in-a-lifetime events, including walking in the Parade of Nations during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and running in the Olympic Torch Relay for the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics. He was also active in his community serving on the Board of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Kiangsu-Chekiang-Shanghai Association of the USA, and the Bowers Museum.
In his private life, William cherished his family and friends, and enjoyed traveling, playing golf, karaoke, and spending time with his two grandchildren, who are the absolute apple of his eye.
William is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann, his two children Edward and Grace, his brother, his sister, and his two grandchildren, Sophie and Macy.
He will be sorely missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
