

He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 13, 1947 to Abel and Santos Garcia. Alfredo served 2 tours during the Vietnam War serving our county in United States Marine Corps. He was the owner of La Siesta Café for 30 years, sponsored Latino Softball teams and Westside Business Association. He enjoyed playing golf, going to the movies and attending Miller High School football games. Alfredo enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys games and loved to BBQ.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ernesto Cantu.
Alfredo leaves behind his family to cherish his memories; sisters, Anita Garcia, Amada (Amy) Arreola and Alicia Garcia; his children, Richard C. Lopez, Burt Flores and April De Leon; numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and many close friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral services will be on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
