He was a family man and very proud to be. In his youth he worked in the fields picking cotton alongside his parents and siblings. He attended school at Tom Browne Junior High and briefly, Mary Carroll High School. He left high school to help his mother and family. At the age of 19, he married the love of his life, Elida, and together they had 2 daughters. He also played an important role in the lives of all of his nieces and nephews on his wife’s side of the family. He worked over 30 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator for J.I. Hailey and Savage. After retirement, he spent his days chauffeuring his grandkids around and attending their many sporting and music events. He was everyone’s biggest fan and had the most loving heart for any person or animal.
