Amelia M. Gomez

Amelia M. Gomez, 65 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brianna Lynn Gomez; parents, Jose and Guadalupe Madrigal; sisters, Maria Gomez and Antonia Monzon; brothers, Juan Madrigal and Jose Madrigal, Jr.

Amelia leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving husband, Hector S. Gomez, Sr.; her children, Elsa Garcia (Margarito, Jr.), Hector Gomez, Jr., Rudy Gomez (Mary Lou) and Roger Gomez (Amanda); seven grandchildren, Mathew Gomez, Justin Gomez, Andrew Gomez, Eric Gomez, Steven Gomez, Brittany Gomez and Larissa Gomez; one great-grandson, Jose Angel Saenz, III. Also surviving are four sisters, Josefa Salgado, Guadalupe Arredondo (Richard), Delia Murillo (Juan) and Maria Elena Cruz (Jose); one brother, Mario Madrigal; one sister-in-law, Jesusa Madrigal; one brother-in-law, Jose Gomez and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give thanks to Odyssey Hospice staff and special thanks to Kathy Morin and Rosie Flores and the Harborview staff especially Norma Sanchez, Best Friend, Elvira Garcia for always being there.

Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
