Augustin Martinez

He was born on June 6, 1953 in Zapata, Texas to Felipe and Hermelinda Martinez.

Augi was a United States Army Veteran. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Hermelinda Martinez and two brothers, Fabian and Fernando Martinez.

He leaves behind his family to cherish his memories, two sons, Steven Martinez (Debra) of Alvin, Texas, Augustin Martinez, Jr., (Monlisa) of Sinton, Texas; two grandsons and one granddaughter; brothers, Felipe Martinez Jr., (Arcelia) of La Porte, Texas and Sergio Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Janie Garza (Hector Saenz), Julia Cantu (Joe) and Maria “Lupita” Ruiz (Joe) all of Corpus Christi, Texas; special uncle, Santiago Martinez (Terry) of Zapata, Texas; aunt, Maria Jaramillo (Nicho) of Weslaco, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
