Betty Ruth McKinley

Betty Ruth Owen McKinley went to be the Lord on June 19th, 2023 at the age of 89. Betty was born on December 30th, 1933 to William and Delta Owen. She was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, where she met and married her high school sweetheart Robert “Bobby” E. McKinley on July 21st, 1950. They were happily married 72 years.

She is predeceased in death by her parents, William and Delta Owen, her daughter, Laura Lynn Nichols, her sisters, Peggy Allbright, Judy Teague and brother, Steve Owen. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. McKinley, her son Robert E. (Michelle) McKinley, Jr., her granddaughters, Meredith Holmes (Shannon) McKinley, Melanie McKinley (Spencer) Harvey, grandson, Robert E. McKinley, III, sister, Francis (Billy) Cheshire, brother, Bill Owen, great grandsons Patrick and Sam McKinley, son in law, Mark Nichols. She is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.

Above all, Betty put her faith and family first. She dedicated her life to being a doting wife, mother and grandmother and was the light of their lives as well. She also had many friends and was well-loved resident of the Mirador Retirement Community. Betty loved her Lord and their Church, Kings Crossing Church of Christ, where she was an active member for many years. Betty will be remembered as devoting her life to her family and touching the lives of those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14th, 2023 at Kings Crossing Church of Christ,
