Bruno worked as a migrant worker in his early years, which took him to different states, where he would find other jobs and stay for a while.
Bruno eventually returned to Corpus Christi where he met Lucy Diaz. They married in 1960 and started their family. He took National Radio Institute mail-in courses and became an appliance and refrigeration repairman. Eventually, he would work for and retire from Swaco Dresser Industries as an Industrial Painter.
Bruno was the Patriarch of the Nunez-Mejia Family. He was a loving man with a personality and a sense of humor as big as his heart. He was a God fearing man, strong in his faith. He loved all of his family, both near and far. His favorite saying was, “Be Blessed.”
Bruno is preceded in death by his parent, Cristobal and Sofia Mejia; wife, Lucy Mejia; son, George Mejia; brothers, Albert, Pete and George; along with sisters, Mary Jane and Sara; and his grandson, Frank Mejia, Jr.
He is survived by his six children: Bruno (Lydia), Susan (Victor), Edward, Frank (Sandra), Ray (Liz) and Paul (Cathy); 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Felismer Nunez Mejia Torres and his brother, Oscar Nunez.
A special thank you to his provider of many years, Susie DeLeon.
