Clara T. Figueroa was born on August 12, 1935, in Cuero, Texas.
When she was one, her family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she lived a beautifully blessed life.
She was a graduate of Roy Miller High School, a very loud and proud Buccaneer, always reminding us “Once a Buc, always a Buc!”
She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Toribio H. Figueroa;
her parents, Valentin Tijerina and Paz Gonzales Tijerina; her siblings, Valentin Tijerina, Jr.,
Blanche Tijerina, Jose Tijerina, Alberto Tijerina, Gilberto Tijerina, Estella Trujillo, David Tijerina,
and Eva Gutierrez; and great-grandson, Maximiliano Ian Martinez.
Clara is survived by her five children: Cynthia Jane Figueroa, David T. Figueroa (Amelia),
Toribio Figueroa, Jr. (Sandra), Abraham Figueroa (Tina), and Elizabeth Ann Vasquez (Manuel).
Grandchildren: Jessica Isabella Manriquez (Nate), Christina “Nina” Cavazos (Oscar),
David T. Figueroa, Jr. (Crystal), Carissa Lynn Figueroa (Jaime Mora), Sandra Yvonne Jaime
(Juan Antonio Martinez), Ricardo Alberto Jaime (Cynthia), Teresa Guadalupe Alfaro (Gabriel),
Amy Celeste Molina (JD), Abraham Figueroa, Jr. (Jeanette), Elana Paz Vasquez, Sophia Fae Vasquez, Belicia Grace Vasquez, and Xavier Manuel Vasquez.
She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren: Benecio Jett, Oscar Rene III, Isaac Andrew,
Arianna Tenley, David T. III, Arabella Grace, Gregorio III, James David, Antonio Arturo,
Jesus Daniel, Christian, Mateo Alejandro, Miguel Angel, Olyzez Moises, Marcus Rafael,
Martha Abigail, Ricardo Augrelio, Armando, Guillermo Andres, Emma Ellie, Gabriela Anahi,
Andrea Alejandra, Guadalupe Arturo II, Valeria Sofia, Mikaela Rylee, Josue Joseph,
Emma Isabel and Camila May.
Clara will also be remembered by her countless loved ones, extended family, and a multitude of friends.
She was a blessing and a friend to all. She will be greatly missed but will live on forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, Texas, on
Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at
9:00 am, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales,
Corpus Christi, Texas. Funeral procession to follow to Rose Hill Memorial Park,
2731 Comanche, Corpus Christi, Texas.
