OBITUARY

Cynthia Lynn Barton

10 March, 19605 May, 2021

Cynthia Lynn Barton, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, went peacefully to her Lord May 5, 2021. Cindy was born March 10, 1960 in Monmouth, IL. She graduated high school in Galesburg, IL and earned her Bachelor’s degree from OSU in 1989. Cindy married Larry Barton, and together raised three boys. She had a successful career as a Financial Analyst in the oil & gas industry, but her favorite place to be was at the beach, surrounded by friends and family, with a cool glass of chardonnay in her perfectly manicured hand. Cindy was a beautiful, kind-hearted, and nurturing person who saw goodness in everyone. Of all the accomplishments in life, her greatest joy was her son, Brock. She was his greatest cheerleader, both on the basketball court and in life, in general. Cindy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Larry Barton, and her parents, Phillip Hottell and Kay Prescott. Cindy is survived by her sons, Brock Barton, Lance Barton (Sharon), and Forrest Barton (Tiffany); her step-father, Mike Prescott; her brother, Jeff Hottell (Brenda), her sisters, Lisa Ryan (John) and Kim Clouston (Eric); her grandchildren, Brianne, Blake, Sheridan, and Hayes Barton; her nieces, Whitney Granado and Lindsey Hottell; her nephew, Reece Hottell; aunts, Mary Hottell-Clymer, Janice Painter and Linda Lewis and uncle Lee Hottell plus numerous other family members. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 13th from 4:00-8:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel, 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi TX. She will be laid to rest next to her husband on Saturday, May 15th at 2:00pm in the Salado Cemetery in Salado, TX. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CageMillsFuneralDirectors.com for the Barton family.

Today i was remembering our dear colleague your husband Larry. By coincidence one of our friends had seen your obituary and sadly advised us . It is with deepest sympathy we offer to your sons especially Brock as he's mentioned in your obituary. You're wonderful attributes will always be remembered and cherished by your loving family. God bless them 🙏

Cindy will be missed by many. I am thankful that our paths crossed 24 years ago at a COPAS meeting. Many people cross our paths but only a special few make an influence on us. Cindy was one of those people that made an impact on the person that I am today. We worked together many times on COPAS events and attended several national meetings together over the past 24 years.
Cindy, you touched my life in such a sweet way. I love and miss you. My heart, love, thoughts and prayers go out to Brock and the rest of the family

I didn't know much about Cindy when Whitney invited me over to her house. But the moment I met her, I knew she was a very warm and loving person. She accepted me with no questions asked, and made me feel right at home. She was always a blast to have around. Anytime she came to hang out with Whitney and our friends, it was always a great time. She was full of laughter and love, and just wanted to be around her family and friends. I am glad to have met Cindy, and only wish I had seen her one last time before I left Corpus.

She'll always be remembered as an amazing, fun, and loving woman.

Cindy was our favorite bowling partner back in 1994 when we bowled with her and Larry every Monday night. She came to bowling one night running late and took off her shoes and tried to bowl in her socks, she ended up with a broken arm, but she still was a trooper and showed up to support her team even though she couldn't play. She was a delightful friend always smiling and I have many fond memories of being with her and Larry.

Although it's been years since I've seem Cindy, who I knew through Larry, I will always remember her smile and her voice. She was truly a wonderful woman (now an angel). She will be missed.

Brock and family, I’m so very sorry to hear of Cindy’s passing. We’ve been friends since 8th grade, my best friend and both had sons named Brock. She was a beautiful person, inside and out and will be missed greatly.
