David Rangel Davila, 72, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on April 21, 2021. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 5, 1948 to Gilberto and Carolina Davila. He graduated from W.B. Ray High school with his high school diploma.
He married Sylvia Davila on May 1, 1993. David proudly served his country as a United States Marine from June 26, 1967 until June 26, 1971 and served in the Vietnam War. He worked as an aircraft mechanic and retired from CCAD.
David loved fishing, watching cowboy and war movies, shooting pool, and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed sipping rum with his buddies. Most of all though, David had a passion for his family. He loved them all.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carolina Rangel and his father, Gilberto Davila; his brothers, Benjamin Davila and Gilberto Davila II.
David is survived by his wife, Sylvia Davila; children, David Davila, Jr. Ana Hernandez, Evelyn Juarez, Manuel Hernandez III, Edna Steele, Stephanie Knockless, Suzette Juarez, and Crystal Alvarez; grandchildren, Mark Jr. and Madison Esparza, Jorge D. Caro Jr., Jessica N. Caro, Justin D. Caro, Hector Pedraza Jr., Rachelle Pedraza, Gabrielle F. Bowden, Hector, Adam, Anthony Reyna, Sotero Hernandez, Moses and Ermilio Aguilar.
He will be lovingly missed by his sister and brothers, Mary Alice Salazar, Eddie Flores, and Daniel Davila.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 5 – 8 PM with Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 9:30 AM with burial to follow at Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery.
