Dwight Allen Gwynn, age 76, of Robstown, Texas, was called home to meet his Lord and Savior face to face on Monday, December 29, 2025. He was born October 11, 1949, to William Clayton Gwynn and Margaret Faye Gwynn.
Dwight was a Class of 1967 King High School graduate. His country called him to serve in the Vietnam War, and he proudly and courageously answered the call. After returning from his tour in Vietnam, Dwight served as a peace officer in the Nueces County Sheriff Department for a short time before becoming a farmer. Dwight raised corn, cotton, and grain sorghum in the rich clay soil of Nueces County until 1996. He later worked for the ASCS offices in Nueces and Kleberg counties before joining UAP and Mid Valley chemical companies.
Dwight loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, his Country, saltwater fishing, and his dog Roxy. Even as Dwight dealt with deteriorating and debilitating health issues for the last 26+ years, he rarely lacked a smile, a gleam in his eye, and a mischievous joke. Dwight had a love for the Lord and a heart for evangelism. He was always ready to share the hope of Christ with practically anyone he crossed paths with. Dwight was an active member of Summit Church Texas.
Dwight is survived by his spouse of 28 years, Brenda Kay Gwynn, children Jonathan(Michelle) Gwynn, Benjamin (Lesli) Gwynn, Katrina (Russel) Cady, Wes Taylor, and Kristi (Craig) Kircher, grandchildren Amber, Adam, Emily, Meghan, Katherine, Rebecca, and Casey Gwynn, Emma Kircher, Savana (Joey) Beaver, Rendi (John Michael) Caraway, Brandon (Gina) Cady, Marshall (Christine) Cady, and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former spouse and mother of Jonathan and Benjamin, Linda Blair, and brothers Orman (Elizabeth) Gwynn and William Gwynn. He is preceded in death by his parents and his great-grandson Dwight Beaver.
Dwight's family would like to express special thanks to his nurse, Bridgett, Visiting Angels Home Health, and his neighbor Jose Serna for their exceptional care for Dwight.
