Elisa Martinez

Eliza Martinez, age 63, went home to her Savior on August 24, 2022. She was born December 14, 1958, to Baldemar and Margarita Cantu in Corpus Christi, TX. She was married to her husband of 46 years Rufino Martinez Jr.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Lisa (the name most everyone knew her by) is best remembered for her passion for Christ. Lisa meant a lot to many, many people. She was a vital member of Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship in Corpus Christi, Texas. Under the watchful eye of Senior Pastor Donald G. Leavell, she served as a greeter for many years and had a welcoming smile to all who walked through the doors. Lisa would wake up every morning at 6:00 a.m. and go to her quiet place to pray for all her family and friends without fail. She knew the power of prayer and instilled that in everyone who ever met her.

Lisa loved shopping with her granddaughters and having her house full of laughter and smiles with all her children and grandchildren. On a beautiful sunny day, you could find Lisa going for a lovely walk with her husband. During her downtime she liked to do craft work, solve crossword puzzles, and watch her favorite shows. But most of all, her biggest passion was cooking and sharing recipes with her loved ones.

Lisa Martinez is preceded in death by her parents, Baldemar and Margarita Cantu, and her brothers Robert Cantu and Baldemar Cantu Jr.

Lisa leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Rufino Martinez, Jr.; daughter, Leticia Nori Martinez; sons, Rufino Martinez IV, Roel Martinez (Katie); brother, Rodolfo Luna (Cynthia); sister, Patricia Cantu.

Her most prized possessions are her grandchildren; Miranda Celestine Martinez, Clarissa Marie Martinez, Noah Martinez, Aleiah Dawn Martinez, Owen Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eliza Martinez will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
