Emily Renee Basaldu

She was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on June 26, 1974.

Emily is preceded in death by her father, Marcello Rodriguez.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Basaldu; children, Miranda and Cheyenne Beaver of Victoria, Texas, Sabra and Edward Contreras of Corpus Christi, Texas, Aubrey Taylor of Corpus Christi, Texas and Warren Taylor Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandson, Zacharee Beaver-Taylor; mother, Margarita Remigio of Texas City, Texas; sisters, Marcy “Cuncha” Reyes of Port Lavaca, Texas and Angela Lopez of Houston, Texas.

Emily loved working out, eating frozen yogurt at Scoopz, watching “her boyz”, the Dallas Cowboys, win or lose. She was strong willed, dependable, spiritual and never let her goals fall through. She loved her children and family very much. Emily loved spending time on the weekends with her grandson, always looked out for others and loved to help those in need. She was a people person. Friends would always bring her favorite peanut butter M&M’s and Orbit gum to her office. She loved her fur baby Chihuahuas, Sadie, Sandie, Shelbie and Samara. They were her world. Emily loved to make everyone laugh and smile. She cheered up people with her presence. She was the backbone of the family.

The family would love to give their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Michele Ibanez for her help and comfort during Emily’s last days here on Earth.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a time of reflection to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
