Ernestina "Tina" Rodriguez

Ernestina (Tina) Rodriguez, 94 years passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born in a small community near Victoria, Texas on March 25, 1921 to Jose Isabel and Abelina Benavides Reyna. She lived in Mercedes, Texas and moved to Corpus Christi in the early 1950s.

She is preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings and her husband, Guillermo Sanchez Rodriguez. Survivors include her children, Ernestina Ramirez, Guillermo Rodriguez (Deborah), Cecilia Barnett (Charles), and Linda Flores-Irwin (Thomas); eleven grandchildren (Leticia Rios, Lena McCawley, Phillip Rodriguez, Jana Crane, Charles Barnett IV, Sarah Lange, Adrienne and Adine Barnett, Laura Irwin, Henry and Alyssa Flores; twenty great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Mom was a devoted Catholic. She crocheted beautiful tablecloths, was an accomplished seamstress and made great tamales.

Friends and relatives will gather to celebrate her life at Funeraria del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd, Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
