

Esiquio G. “Zeke” Hernandez, 67, passed away December 20, 2016. He was born December 17, 1949 to Eliazar and Ermelinda Hernandez in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was raised in Corpus Christi and graduated from Moody High School in 1968. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force serving in the Vietnam War and continued his service for 24 years until he retired as a Master Sergeant E-7. He was awarded a variety of awards and decorations including the Commendation Medal. He married his wife, Diana, of 44 years on November 2, 1972. Esiquio was employed by Foy H. Moody High School and Georgia Middle Tech College after retiring from the Air Force. He was a loving father, uncle, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Esiquio enjoyed family functions and watching sports. He will be remembered for his laughter, devotion to family, love for Moody High School and the Dallas Cowboys and dancing with his wife, Diana.
Esiquio was preceded in death by his parents, Eliazar and Ermelinda Hernandez. He is survived by his wife, Diana C. Hernandez, daughters, Terri Prosperi and Cynthia Dominguez and son, Eliazar Hernandez; brothers, Eliazar Hernandez Jr., Edwardo Hernandez, Ernesto Hernandez and Emilio Hernandez; sisters, Elisa Robles, Elida Rodriguez and Elsa Breeling; 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Memorial Holly Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Road, Corpus Christi, Texas.
