Esperanza Frayre Rodriguez, 85, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed embroidery, sewing, crafting, shopping, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Esperanza was born in Atotonilco, Zacatecas in Mexico on June 12, 1935. She came to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1971 where she worked in several printing shops including Jack Bonner Company and lastly Grunwald Printing Company in the bindery departments. She was devout in her Catholic faith and was a member of Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church.
Esperanza is survived by her husband, Luis Rodriguez De Leon, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Rosalba Frayre (Guillermo) Salazar; children, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Mauricio R. (Leticia) Rodriguez, Laura P. (Gilberto) Ortiz; grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Miranda, Augustin, Stephanie, Jasmin, and Sophia; and great-grandchildren, Phillip and Layla.
Esperanza was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael Frayre and Elvira Lira Frayre; her brother, Jaime Frayre Lira; and sister, Evangelina Frayre Salas.
The family would like to thank Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center of Corpus Christi, Christus Spohn Shoreline, and Christus Spohn South for the time and care they provided.
Friends are invited to the Visitation, Rosary, and Funeral Mass all beginning at 9:00 am on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church located at 1101 Bloomington St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78416.
