She was born on February 14, 1933, in Navasota, Texas, to Frank Boggess and Mary Ellen De'Bose.
Fredie graduated from Carver High School in 1952. On February 14, 1971, she married Freddie Kinney at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Fredie was a mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family deeply. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and carried that faith with her throughout her life. She was an active member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under Rev. Allen Gary, where she worked on the kitchen committee and served as treasurer until his passing. She later joined True Faith Baptist Church under Rev. Riddley Rich, where she continued to serve faithfully.
Fredie loved her church and was active until her health started failing. She enjoyed being around her church family, and her presence was always felt through her kindness, her laughter, and her willingness to help wherever she was needed.
Fredie was the best cook in the world—if you missed out on her cooking, I’m so sorry. She loved to cook for her family, friends, and church, and she made sure no one left her home hungry. Her kitchen was a place of love, laughter, and good food, where many memories were made.
She was a joker, loved to smile and have fun and dance, and she will be missed. She had a way of making people laugh and feel at home, and her spirit brought joy to those around her, always making every individual feel like they were her favorite.
She also had a passion for gardening and loved roses. She took pride in caring for them, just as she cared for the people in her life.
Fredie was preceded in death by her spouse, Freddie Kinney (Papasito); her great-grandson Lamar Alexander Simms; her daughter, Charlie Mae; four sisters; three brothers; and special nephews J.W. Wallace and Robert Wallace.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Georgie Ann Coleman (Ronald Coleman); her granddaughter, Renee Griffen; a sister, Helen Ruth Sanders; and a special, much loved, longtime friend, Alyce Lindholm, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will continue to hold her close in their hearts.
Fredie always said, “I’m your mother, you better listen to me.”
The family of Fredie Marie Kinney would like to express our sincere thanks for all the acts of kindness and love shown during this time of bereavement. Thank you for the personal condolences, visits, telephone calls, flowers, and prayers offered. May God bless you all. ~The Family
