Georgie, as the family affectionately refers to her, leaves behind her loving son and daughter, Michael Anthony Alvarado (Michelle) of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Melissa Christina (Jeff) of Austin, Texas. She was predeceased by her parents, Esteban and Dolores Alvarado, her twin sister, Stella Alvarado, Lydia Motsinger, and Richard Alvarado. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Mary Moreno (Jose), Lupe Lopez (Nick), Steve Alvarado (Ruth), and David Alvarado (Elida). She leaves behind numerous grandchildren, adoring nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Georgie was kind, compassionate, open-hearted, patient, loyal, feisty, and spirited. She had an unforgettable joy around her children and grandchildren. Her children were her greatest pride and joy. Her siblings, nieces and nephews, fondly describe her by saying, “she would give anyone the shirt off her back”.
She suffered lifelong debilitating effects of polio, epilepsy, as well as other disabilities. In more recent years, she survived breast cancer with grace and strength. She faced many obstacles and difficult hardships and did so with utmost strength and determination.
Her children would like to extend a special note of gratitude to her younger sister, Mary, for her unwavering devotion to generously caring for Georgie, Michael and Melissa throughout their lives.
The family will forever cherish their time with her and find hope and solace in knowing she is finally resting in eternal peace.
