

Herbert (Herb) Dolgner our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away on December 5, 2013 at the age of 85. He was born in Arneckeville, Texas on December 7, 1928 to Willie Dolgner and Augusta Domain Dolgner. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Willie Dolgner Jr. and Edwin Dolgner, two sisters, Lillian Dolgner Borchardt and Ella Dolgner Borchardt.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Alfena of 64 years. His daughter, Elaine (Craig) Dolgner Moody of The Woodlands, two sons, Kenneth (Lynn) Dolgner of Spring, Texas, Steve (Sue) Dolgner of Katy, Texas, seven grandchildren, Kenneth Dolgner Jr., Brandie Dolger both of Spring, Texas, Shane (Stephanie) Moody of Houston, Texas, Ryan (Kelly) of San Antonio, Texas, Brittany Dolgner USAF of Alamogordo, NM, Lauren Dolgner of Texas City, Texas, Tyler Webb of Katy, Texas, six great-grandchildren, Camille Moody, Quinn Moody, Shelby Dolgner, Madison Liddell, Tanner Shirey, Lenzie Shirey, brother, Milton Dolgner of Houston, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He and his wife, Alfena owned a ranch in Jim Wells County, where they spent many happy and relaxing times. Herbert was a loyal member of St. Marks Lutheran Church. He was an active member of Herman Son’s where he served as a trustee for about 25 years. He was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters where he served several terms as Vice President. Herbert was also a Mason and member of Independence Lodge #1337. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite of Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Al Amin Shrine in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he served as a member of the Al Amin Provost Guard. He started his career driving the city bus for Nueces Transportation Company. He spent most his career with Trail ways Bus and retired from Greyhound Bus Lines after 41 ½ years, with the last two years as a driver instructor. He will be missed and loved by the many wonderful friends made with the Bus Company. He then went to work alongside his wife.
He will always be remembered for his wit and as man who loved and was loved dearly by his family.

Visitation will be Monday, December 9, 2013 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
