

He has gone to be reunited with his wife of 55 years Emma Carvajal, son Heriberto Carvajal Jr., granddaughters Teresa Moody, Miriam B. Vela; great-grandson Joseph Suarez and sister Maria C. Villarreal.
Eddie lived his life full of love and laughter always uplifting those around him. His Passions were his family and his friends. Eddie was very active in Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Men’s Organization “De Colores”. He provided his children a Catholic School Education as well.
He coached little league baseball for 27 years at West Side and International Little league. He was a Cub Scout leader for Pack 223 and later a troop leader.
Eddie worked side by side with Dr. Hector P. Garcia helping organize the GI Forum. He also motivated and campaigned for Senator Carlos Truan and Judge Joaquin Villarreal.
In his career as in his life he strived for excellence and became the first Hispanic heavy equipment operator and superintendent. He mentored many co-workers in his usual caring manner allowing them to advance to heavy equipment operators and supervisors. He was also a union equipment operator.
He is survived by his children, Diana Tullar (Lawrence), Elma Moody (Michael), Aida Lutz (David), Irma Suarez, Rosie Carvajal, Sandra Rodriguez (Joe), Lilly Sharp (Kevin), Joe Carvajal, John Carvajal and Martin H. Carvajal. He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Family will be receiving friends on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Matthew Moody, Rick Alvarado, Kevin Sharp Jr., Heriberto Carvajal III, Manuel Vela Jr., James Carvajal, Seth Tullar and Jose Carvajal Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be John David Carvajal, Michael Carvajal, Danny Suarez, Sonny Suarez III, John Carvajal Jr. and Michael Moody II.
