Israel Garcia Jr.

Israel Garcia, Jr., 71, of Corpus Christi, was called by our Lord on November 24, 2014. His pain and suffering is now in the Lord’s hands. Israel was born on March 11, 1943 in McAllen, Texas to Israel Sr. and Dora Leal Garcia.

Israel worked hard all his life in all areas of the roofing business. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included fishing and watching the Houston Oilers and Texans during past football seasons.

He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, Dora L. Garcia; his wife, Adela R. Garcia; sons, Israel Garcia III, Daniel Garcia; daughters, Nancy Bueck, Grace G. Mineser (Carl), Virginia (Adam) Chesser; sisters, Maria G. (Humberto) Leal, Isabel (Roberto) Fuentes, Teresa Simms, Dora Ann Garcia; brothers, Daniel (Ester) Garcia and Abel (Diane) Garcia; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 28, 2014 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Visitation will continue Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Services to conclude at the church with full military honors. Private cremation to follow.
