

Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars and was awarded numerous medals, including the Bronze Star. After retiring from the military he served as a Deputy Sherriff and as a park ranger for Nueces County.
Jack was passionate about little children, old westerns, and new cars. He loved his family, his church, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Smith; son, David Wayne Peters and 7 siblings.
Jack is survived by his wife, Naomi Peters; daughters, Jan Wright (Howard) of Oklahoma City, OK, Kathy Preston of Atlanta, GA; sons, Robert Peters of Nashville, TN; step-daughters, Beverly Allen and Brenda Brown of Robstown, Barbie Altenberger of Madison, WI; step-son, Bradley Watson (Marie) of Corpus Christi, TX; sister, Billie Perkins of Hutto, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carrie Hulcher, Jeff Gilbreath, Kelly Preston, Becky Calaway, Brooke Allen, Gary Niederbrach , Jeff Niederbrach, Jason Altenberger, Renee Hebert, Rebecca Alterberger, Jennifer Vasquez, Joshua Watson, Erin Watson, Elizabeth Watson and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 8, 2012 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow with Military Honors at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
