

Jimmie Blake Myers was born March 24, 1927, and passed away in the presence of his loved ones on April 21, 2015 at the age of 88. He was the eldest of seven children born to Bennie Blake and Sally May Myers in Yoakum, Texas.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Air Force. He shipped out of New York City on Christmas Day in 1945. He served in Germany for 2 ½ years and was discharged in 1950.
He married the love of his life, Bonnie Spears, on April 29, 1950. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary next week.
He was in the oil and gas business for many years where he made numerous life-long friends and mentored so many with his oil field knowledge. He was a long time member of Lexington Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother; Tommy Myers. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; brothers, Lonnie (Barbara), David (Virginia), Billy Joe (Carolyn); and sisters, Virginia Hasek, and Mary Reed; numerous nieces and nephews; and so many friends who loved him.
Pall Bearers will be Lewis Cummins, Alex Graves, Sam Jackson, Tim Myers, Greg Spears and Kyle Spears. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Bill Bevill, J. W. Cooper, John Groom, Robbie Robertson, and Monty Scales.
Services will be at Cage Mills Funeral Home on Everhart and McArdle Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:00. Burial will follow at Seaside Mausoleum.
