John Salyer Sr.

John was a caring and loving husband to his dear wife of 37 years Lucia; a special loving father to his son J.J. Salyer (Erica) and daughter, Christina Wyrick (Dan) and an extra special Popo to his six grandchildren, Evelyn Cerise, Julia Elise, John Cole, Luke Daniel, Dylan James and Savannah Brooke. His survivors include 11 siblings and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

John will never be forgotten and will live in our hearts forever; he will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

His family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Dubuis Hospital, Dr. Francisco Acebo, Dr. Emile Salloum, Dr. Salim Surani and everyone for their support, thoughts and prayers.

Honoring him as pallbearers will be John Salyer, Jr., Dan Wyrick, Ross Paniagua, Sr., Ross Paniagua, Jr., Bob Jones, Sr. and Bobby Jones, II, Joey Muñoz and Armando Cantu, III.

The family will be receiving family and friends from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that evening. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2012 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery.
