

John Ervin Scott, 81, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, September 12, 2011. He was born on April 4, 1930 in Evergreen, Alabama to Julia and Henry Scott, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his infant son, Barry on September 8, 1951 and two brothers, Elvin Eugene and Russell Aubrey.
He was born in Evergreen, Alabama but was raised in Mobile, Alabama. John joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country aboard the USS Verlao. He returned to civilian life and worked at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile from 1952 until 1966 and then transferred to ARADMAC where he was a crew leader and retired in 1983.
John will be remembered as a jovial family man with a very kind heart always available to help those in need. He truly enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and hunting with his wife and family.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Charlotte; his daughter, Becky (Kim) Kitchen; sons, Chris Scott, David (Michelle) Scott; grandchildren, Tiffany Perales, Jason Scott, Christa Scott, Amber Scott, MacKenzie Scott; great grandchildren, Jay Vasquez, Melanie Vasquez, Emmerson Perales, Haley Scott, Payton Avalos; and his loving pet, Jennie Lyn.
Visitation will be held from ll:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday also at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors.
