Jose attended and graduated from Ray High School in Corpus Christi. He worked with Dollar and Avis car rental for over 20 years. He was a proud member of Nolf Knives and Go Pro Community and The Breakthrough Church in Corpus Christi.
He had a passion for fishing, recreational water activities, hikes, nature walks and a collector of succulents, geodes and other collectible rocks. He loved hosting dinner at his home and playing UNO, going fishing and watching sports. What Jose loved doing the most was making memories with his son, taking him out for sno cones, going to the movies and other outdoor adventures.
He was mostly known for his funny sense of humor, jokes and his sarcasm, and most of all his fake smile he would give.
He is survived by his son; Elgin Beau Montalvo, his mother; Jackie Montalvo, siblings; Jessica (Daniel) Lopez, John (Thi) Montalvo, Jeana Montalvo, Joe A. Montalvo, stepbrother and step sister; Diego and Alma Torres, nieces and nephews; Aiden Arizmendi, Antonio and Ava Lopez, Susanna and Maddison HErnandez, Mariah and Victoria Montalvo, as well as his fur babies; Franklin and Sandy. Jose is preceded in death by his father; Joe Montalvo, paternal grandfather; Jose Oscar Montalvo, and maternal grandparents; Jesus and Apolonia Marin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, located at 4901 Everhart Road.
