Jose Angel Pena

Jose graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1961 and went on to earn a degree in Carpentry from Del Mar College. He married Antonia Conejo on December 2, 1962. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union and also the founder of a plant club which had over 1000 followers.

He enjoyed singing, playing his guitars, playing his accordion, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed watching the Hooks Baseball Team play and was an avid Dallas Cowboy's fan. He liked antiques and woodworking projects, but his ultimate favorite pastime was spending time with his two grandchildren.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Maria Bazan Pena; brothers, Margarito Bazan Pena, and Florentino Bazan Pena.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Antonia Pena; daughters, Diana (Reynaldo) Franco, and Belinda (Pablo) Zamarripa; and two cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Franco and Angelina Zamarripa.

The family would like to thank each and everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.

A public visitation for Jose will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 with a holy rosary at 1:30 PM. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home.

Committal and Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
