Jose was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ernesto Zuniga.
Jose proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. While stationed in Abilene, Texas, he met the love of his life, Ausencia, who would become his beloved wife.
For 48 years, he was a devoted and loving husband. He took great pride in being a father to his children, Michelle and Jose Jr., and was a cherished grandfather to Jeremiah and Jacob, who brought him immense joy.
He was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent 30 years at Citgo Refinery, where his commitment and strong work ethic carried him through to retirement.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Ausencia; his children, Jose Zuniga Jr. and Michelle Mendoza (Luis); and his beloved grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jacob. He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Janie San Miguel (Daniel), Connie Duffy (Nicholas), and Juan Zuniga Jr. (Colleen), along with many other cherished family members and dear friends.
