Joyce H. Howard

Joyce Hale Howard, 88 entered into eternal rest June 7, 2014. She was born December 31, 1925 on the Luby Ranch near Bishop, Texas to Edwin and Nelda Kieschnick. Joyce is survived by her son Larry Hale and wife Victoria, grandson Jason Hale and wife Emily, brothers Virgil and Clif Kieschnick, step daughters Michele Smith, Cecile McElroy, and Jeannine Libsack, special niece Carol Culley, and other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husbands Verne Hale and Arthur Howard, her parents, grandson Michael Russell and “adopted” son, Larry Bush.

Joyce worked for 29 years as a Paralegal and Legal Assistant for the City Attorney of the City of Corpus Christi. She was an active, long-term member of the Nueces County Legal Secretaries Association, serving as President in 1984. One of her many accomplishments and certainly one of hers and our proudest was pursuing a degree from Del Mar College which she received in 1982 while working full time. Joyce was an avid reader her entire life, loved to dance and enjoyed travelling.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 11 at Cage Mills Funeral Home 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 12 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 808 Louisiana Parkway, Corpus Christi followed by burial at Seaside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Preschool.
