

Juana T. Pena, 88, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on October 14, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1937, in Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. On June 9, 1981, she married the love of her life, Macario Pena, Sr., at El Messiah’s Baptist Church. Together, they shared 25 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, faith, and cherished memories.
Juana had a gentle and nurturing spirit that shone through in all she did. She loved planting flowers and watching them bloom, and her garden was a true reflection of her care and kindness. She found joy in life’s simple moments, such as gardening, traveling with her husband, and creating beautiful memories together. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, who filled her heart with pride and happiness.
She was best known for her love for her family, her delicious cooking, and her warm, joyful laughter. Juana’s kindness and loving spirit touched everyone who knew her, and her memory will be deeply cherished.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Macario Pena, Sr.; her son, Erasmo Ramirez; grandsons, Dimas Morales, Jr. and Gerardo Ramirez; sons-in-law, Jesus Dimas Morales, Sr. and Armando Arredondo; her brother, Alfredo Lopez Vazquez; and her parents, Librada Vazquez Chavez and Tiburcio Torres Granados.
She is survived by her children: Gloria Guillen, Ester Arredondo, Rafael Ramirez, Jose Ramirez, Jr., Noel Ramirez, Griselda Alaniz, Norma Guerrero, and Rene Pena. She also leaves behind her siblings: Gregoria Lopez Rodriguez (la de El Rancho), Maria Alfonsina Cirpiano, Gregoria Lopez Vazquez (La Chiquita), and Ladislado Lopez Vazquez (El Compa), as well as a large and loving family of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love lives on through six generations of family, each one dearly cherished.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at the nursing home for their compassionate care. A special thank you is extended to Maria Ramirez for the kindness and loving support she provided to Juana.
May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord, reunited with those who went before her. Her love and light will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Visitation for Juana will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, TX 78405. A Prayer Service will follow at 7:00 PM that evening. The Chapel Service will take place Thursday, October 23, 2025 beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
