

On the morning of February 19, 2016, Mrs. Kathleen Goodwin Davis passed away peacefully of natural causes with her family by her side. Mrs. Davis was 95 years old. Mrs. Davis was born in Mount Pleasant, TX on October 18, 1920 to Starling Fred and Mamie Goodwin. She married her husband, Jack Davis on August 14, 1938 and they moved to Corpus Christi, TX in 1940. In 1956, Kathleen, a homemaker and a mother, and Jack, a real estate broker and a home builder, bought and operated Gulfview Trailer Park on Corpus Christi’s North Beach. In 1957, they started what would become a multigenerational family business, Skid-O-Kan. Kathleen was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi.
Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack Davis. She is survived by her son, Thomas S. Davis and his wife Betty Sue Davis of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Adele and Paul Balboni of Glastonbury, CT, Bonnie and Chris Schweinsberg of San Antonio, TX and Thomas S. Davis, Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX; Great-grandchildren, Cristina Balboni, Alex Balboni, Philip Schweinsberg, Eric Schweinsberg, Darienne Davis, Abby Davis and William T. Davis.
Viewing will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 5pm til 7pm at Cage-Mills Funeral Home on Everhart Rd. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 1pm at Cage-Mills Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Paul Crisp, Chris Schweinsberg, Steven Donahoo, Thomas Davis Jr., William T. Davis and Jeff Granger. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your preferred children’s charity.
