Kenneth L. Polk, 89, passed away Feb 14, 2016. K.P. was born Nov 2, 1926 to parents Grady and Iva Polk in Ballinger, TX. During WWII, K.P. proudly served in the United States Navy while his father served in the Army. On June 8, 1953 K.P. married Evelyn Jones and together they served as members of Independence Lodge #1337 in Corpus Christi where he became a Master Mason. After his retirement of 30 years working for Central Power & Light, K.P. remained busy taking pride in all he had. Whether he was making repairs or building his next big idea, he always found an opportunity to include loved ones on his journey. K.P. was a loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend whose unique insight seemed to simplify life’s complicated moments. His wisdom graciously lives on through his son Dennis (Melissa) Polk, stepson Bill Goodson, grandchildren Kenny (Lynde) Polk, Amanda (Kyle) Stevenson as well as great grandchildren Sean, Chase, Blake, Kenlee Polk, and Chad, Trevor Stevenson. The family would like to extend much gratitude to family friend Janese Knocke and Trisun Care Center- River Ridge for their compassionate care during this time.
