Lena mae Royal, age 91 entered into rest April 4, 2010 in Sacramento, California. Born in Mt. Enterprise Texas February 8, 1919, daughter of LaFate and Laura Sirls. Married Sylvester Royal and had two children, Lavernis Royal (deceased) and Ida Marie Murphy (Clentis). They became long time residents of Corpus Christi, Texas. She also resided in San Antonio, Texas for a short period of time. She accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of St. John B.C. She had a passion for cooking and enjoyed gardening, fishing and crocheting.
She is survived by sister, Vernett Morris, sister-in-laws Maryann Williams and Bernice Shields, daughter-in-law, Blanche Royal and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Funeraria Del Angel will host a viewing on April 16, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, Texas. She will be honored with a funeral service at St. John B.C. April 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. 5445 Greenwood Drive Corpus Christi, Texas. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
