Leonel Duque

He was born in Falfurrias, Texas. Leonel graduated from Texas A&I University receiving dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice.

He married Caroline Chesney on September 4th, 1982. Leonel worked as a Narcotics officer for the Nueces County Sheriff’s Department and later became an Adult Probation Officer for the remainder of his career, retiring in Fall 2005. He was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and has a passion for spending time with his family whether coaching his son in little league baseball, backyard barbecuing, rooting for the Houston Texans, or always winning card and chess games.

Most of all, he was an astounding and devoted provider to his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife – Carol, son – Leonel “Jr.”, daughter – Monica, two grandsons – Leonel III “Trey” and Colby, siblings – Lydia, Lorenzo, Leopoldo, Lino, Luisa, Diana, and beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Lino and Elida, and younger brother – Daniel.

Funeral arrangements will be held from 10:30-1:30pm, Friday, September 1, 2017 with a Rosary to be recited 12:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly Funeral Home, 3442 Holly Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
