Mabel Foster Allen

Mabel was an avid tennis player, playing into her 80’s. She enjoyed playing in tennis leagues at the Corpus Christi Country Club and the Athletic Club. She was a founding member of the YaYa’s at the YWCA. Mabel enjoyed socializing with her friends in the La Parlanchinas Club. Mabel had a unique sense of humor and was on originator of the Laredo High School Cheer. Mabel had a passion for shopping, and was a great lady in every sense of the word! Her family and friends brought her great joy.

Mabel was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husbands, Jay Warren and Thomas Murphey Allen, her parents, her siblings, and her son, Jay Warren.

Mabel is survived by her daughters, Delia Choate and Christine Cross, and a granddaughter Lindsay Mowery (Christian), 2 great grandsons, Cale and Luke Mowery. She is also survived by 2 stepdaughters, Nancy Shannon and Barbara Ross, and their families.

Her family would like to thank the loving care given by her care associates at Clare Bridge at Homewood and Barbara Kent.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5621 Gollihar, Corpus Christi, Texas on Saturday, April 26th at 9:00 a.m.
