

Manuel was born to Manuel F Ortiz and Mary Marron Ortiz, 01/02/1962, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended Roy Miller High School. He is the father of 3 children, Laura, Michael, and Marissa.
He is survived by: Mary Ortiz (Mother), Laura (Kenneth) Norman (Daughter), Michael Ortiz (Son), Marissa (daughter). He also leaves to cherish his memory Gianna Norman (granddaughter), Katherine Ortiz (granddaughter), Melinda Ortiz (sister), Matthew (Roxanne) Muniz (nephew), Selina Muniz (niece), and Jacqueline Valdez (niece). Josie Hernandez (aunt), Beto Ortiz (uncle), John (Eloisa) Marron, Richard (Mia) Marron, Ralph (Paulina) Marron, Felipa Marron, Isabel (Silver) Gonzalez (aunt), Emma Marron Garcia (aunt).
He was preceded in death by Manuel F Ortiz, (Father), Raul and Rebecca Ortiz, (Paternal Grandparents), and Jose F Marron and Etelvina Nieto Marron, (Maternal Grandparents) and Frank Marron (uncle).
Manuel worked as an equipment operator in Corpus Christi, Texas and Houston, Texas. Manuel found joy in racing and working on remote cars, and he enjoyed keeping up with professional car racing. He also loved antique shopping and bringing his finds home. Manuel believed in living life to the fullest and did so through laughter, adventure, and meaningful moments shared with others. Manuel’s greatest gift, however, was his humor. He was an unforgettable storyteller who had a special way of making people laugh. A true character, Manuel brought light and joy wherever he went. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him, always known by his nickname, DKR.
A rosary is scheduled for January 29, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home chapel. A mass is scheduled for January 30, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A reception will follow at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home reception room.
