Margarita B. Oliva, 74, passed away on December 8, 2012. She was born on February 26, 1938 to Enrique Torres and Rosa Barron in Cuidad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She was the light, laughter, and strength of our family. Her love for her family blossomed like the garden she tended to at home. One of her greatest joys was selling and socializing at her boutique. She was a devoted Catholic and strong believer in Jesus and the Virgin Mary. She paid her promises of pilgrimages that she made for answered prayers. Every trip to Mexico was a mission with presents for children and family there. She instilled the value of education, strong morals, and the importance of family in all of us. She was so proud of family members who served in the military, which were many. She was the thread that kept us together always and her spirit livened the holidays, which she so loved.
She is preceded in death by her niece, Susana Musella; grandson, Enrique M. Oliva; brothers, Raul Barron and Victor Garza; sisters, Soila Cruz and Paula Leal and parents.
She is survived by her husband, Ines Oliva; sons, Jose (Connie) Oliva, Enrique (Elisa) Oliva, Juan (Nancy) Oliva, Louis Oliva, Robert (Rachel) Oliva; daughters, Rosario (Benny, III) Iglesias, Susana (Juan) Torres, Margarita (Gerardo) Labrador; 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel – Cheyenne with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
