Maria Perales Alejandro Reyes

She was born on May 22, 1921 in Alice, Texas to the late Santiago and Genoveva Perales. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Miss Sara Reyes.

She leaves behind her family to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband of 73 years, Mr. Santos Alejandro (93 years old); seven children, Mr. Hilario Reyes, Mr. and Mrs. Paula (Manuel) Arias, Mr. and Mrs. Delmira (Juan) Mendiola of San Antonio, Texas; Mr. Juan Reyes and friend, Jess Pitts, Mr. and Mrs. Santiago (Yolanda) Reyes, Mr. and Mrs. Sarah (Raymond) Chavez and Mr. and Mrs. David (Mary) Reyes; nineteen grandchildren and one adopted grandchild, Jackqueline Reyes (Felix); fifty-one great grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 6:00 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church 1302 Lantana Street, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joe Angel Reyes, Juan Arias, Juan M. Mendiola, Jr., Arthur Ray Mendiola, Rolando Mendiola, Santiago Reyes, Jr., John Reyes, Ramon Chavez Jr., Ramiro Chavez, Jose “Tito” Luna and David Reyes, Jr.
